What is a Foot Doctor
A foot doctor, also known as a podiatrist, is a specialized doctor who cares for various conditions of the foot and ankle. This ranges from the treatment of corns and calluses to bunions and hammertoes, to complex deformities and everything in between. Often foot and ankle issues can be treated conservatively, but at times surgical intervention is necessary. A podiatrist has the didactic and clinical training to determine what option is best for any given patient.
Podiatrists must first complete their undergraduate education and then subsequently undergo four years of further specialized training in podiatry school. This is followed by an additional three years of clinical and surgical residency training.
Whereas some podiatrists focus more conservatively on palliative care such as corns, calluses, and skin conditions, others concentrate primarily on the surgical correction of foot and ankle deformities. Dr. Drucker takes a comprehensive approach in which he treats conditions both conservatively and surgically depending on the specific patient and only after a thorough discussion of all available options. He is committed to providing his patients with personalized care and state-of-the-art treatment. He graduated at the top of his class from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine and then completed a three-year residency at St. Mary’s Medical Center in San Francisco, CA. Dr. Drucker is confident and skilled to help with all of your foot and ankle needs.
